How an install in Lincolnshire actually goes

Four steps, and you know the price before step three.

01
We come and look

An engineer walks the rooms, then works outside. On open, exposed plots we look at where the outdoor unit sits relative to the prevailing wind, and how meltwater leaves the base during a winter defrost cycle.

02
You get the design and the price

System sized against your actual rooms, with the quote agreed in writing before anything is ordered.

Fixed in writing
03
We install it

Most single-room installs in Lincolnshire are done in a day. Access is rarely the constraint here - the outdoor unit base and the condensate route take the planning.

Commissioned and handed over

Pressure tested, charged, performance logged and the controls explained properly before we leave.

Lincolnshire Towns We Cover

Select a town for local installation details — every town below has its own page.

Flat, open and exposed

What the housing here is actually like, and what that means once we are on site.

Property types across Lincolnshire

Lincolnshire covers more ground and more building types than most counties: Georgian limestone in Stamford and Grantham, brick market towns across the Fens, Wolds villages, coastal bungalow and holiday-let stock at Skegness and Mablethorpe, and modern estate development around most of the larger towns.

IN THE TOWNOPEN LAND

What that means for the installation

The county's geography drives real specification differences. Coastal properties need corrosion-protected outdoor units. Low-lying Fen plots need the condenser raised clear of standing water. Wolds and rural properties are frequently off the gas grid, which is where an air-to-air system delivering heating and cooling from one unit makes the strongest financial case. We survey against those conditions rather than applying one template.

Planning in Lincolnshire: what changed in 2025

Boundary standoff1m → none
Permitted unit size0.6 → 1.5m³

What permitted development allows changed materially in May 2025, though not evenly across an area this size. The one-metre boundary standoff was removed, the size ceiling for an outdoor unit rose from 0.6 to 1.5 cubic metres, detached houses were permitted a second unit, and air-to-air systems in cooling mode were brought inside the regime for the first time. The MCS 020 noise limit at the nearest neighbouring window remained, and nothing changed for listed buildings or for conservation-area elevations that face a highway. The county's suburban and estate housing benefits across the board, but Stamford, Louth and uphill Lincoln remain as constrained as they were before 2025.

What goes into what

The property types we actually see in Lincolnshire, and what each one decides about the install.

Detached

Two or more free elevations to choose between, so the unit can be put on the sheltered side. Since 2025 a detached house can take two units.

Bungalows

Short pipe runs and easy loft access, so ducted options are worth pricing alongside wall units.

Newer estates

Cavity walls, predictable layouts and tight plot boundaries - the 2025 removal of the one-metre standoff matters most here.

Listed and conservation

Consent is the starting assumption. None of the 2025 relaxations apply to a listed building or a highway-facing elevation in a conservation area.

Solid stone or brick

No cavity to core through, so pipe routing is planned around existing openings and internal boxing.

Why Lincolnshire calls us back

Four things we will not move on.

01

Legally certified on refrigerant

Every engineer on a Lincolnshire job is F-Gas registered, with compliant records kept on every installation.

02

The quote is the price

Agreed in writing before any work begins, after a free on-site assessment. Nothing added afterwards.

03

Sized to the room, not the catalogue

Systems specified against your actual rooms and usage. On exposed plots the winter heating figure, not the summer cooling one, is normally what sets the capacity.

04

Backed after we leave

Comprehensive warranty on parts and labour, backed by an established group trading since 2019.
