The complaint about air conditioning is almost never the temperature. It is the cold air blowing on you. The Breezeless E closes its flap and pushes the air out through 7,928 micro-holes instead, so the room changes temperature and you never sit in the stream. Add UVC sterilisation, ten-minute Flash heating and cooling, and energy monitoring you can actually read.

Air that arrives, not air that hits you
Most wall units solve comfort by moving a lot of air quickly. That works, and it is why so many people end up turning the unit off in the evening or pointing it at the ceiling. Midea took the opposite approach.
Two perforated deflectors work together to break a single cold stream into thousands of tiny ones. The air leaves the unit already diffused, so it mixes with the room instead of travelling across it. You notice the temperature; you do not notice the wind.
Breezeless Mode
The deflector closes completely and every bit of cooled air comes through the micro-holes. This is the setting for a bedroom, a nursery, or a desk you sit at all day — the one where a conventional unit becomes unbearable.
Breezeaway Mode
One button swings the flap to its maximum angle so the air is thrown deliberately away from where people are. It moves more air than Breezeless, which suits a busy living room on a hot afternoon.
Flash heating and cooling
Cool Flash is rated at a 6.3°C drop in ten minutes, Warm Flash at a 9.4°C rise in the same time. Useful when you come home to a cold house in February, or a bedroom that has baked all day under a south-facing roof.
UVC, catalyst and HEPA
A UVC lamp works on bacteria and mould inside the unit itself, where damp coils and condensate trays would otherwise cause trouble. A cold-catalyst filter and a Bio HEPA filter handle dust, odours, formaldehyde and other VOCs in the room.
You can see what it uses
The i-Eco Dashboard reports consumption by day, week, month and year from on-board power measurement. Most people have no idea what their air conditioning costs. This tells you, in kilowatt hours, in the app.
What the buttons actually do
Manufacturer literature tends to list features. This is what each one is for, and when you would reach for it.
Flap closed, air through the micro-holes. The gentlest setting. Bedrooms, nurseries, home offices, anywhere someone sits still for hours.
Flap open at maximum angle, air steered away from the room’s occupants. More capacity than Breezeless while still avoiding a direct draught. Living rooms and open-plan spaces.
Maximum cooling to pull the temperature down fast — a rated 6.3°C in ten minutes — then back to your set point. For coming home to a hot house.
The same idea in heating: a rated 9.4°C rise in ten minutes. Genuinely useful in a UK winter, when the room needs to be usable before the kettle has boiled.
Runs the UVC module to sterilise the coil and tray. Worth using periodically, particularly on a unit that spends the summer cooling and therefore running wet.
Energy statistics in the SmartHome app by day, week, month and year. The setting that tells you whether leaving it on all day actually costs what you think.
Full control from the Midea SmartHome app — on, off, mode, temperature, schedules — plus voice control through Alexa and Google Assistant.
Gradual temperature drift overnight and a seven-day timer, so the system is not fighting an empty house at three in the afternoon.
An optional multi-function board adds volt-free switching from third-party controls and a fault status output, and lets the unit join a Midea central controller or run from a two-core hard-wired controller with a seven-day timer. That matters in a shop, salon or office where you want the system on a building schedule rather than a handset someone has lost. A wireless IR remote (RG10-B) is included as standard; the wired KJR-120M1 is available where a fixed control is better.
2.8kW to 7kW — sized to the room, not the price list
The UK range covers a single bedroom through to a large open-plan living space. Which one you need comes out of the survey, not the brochure.
The compressor modulates rather than switching on and off, so the room holds a steadier temperature and the unit spends most of its life running quietly at part load.
This is a heat pump. In winter it delivers several units of heat per unit of electricity, which is why an air-to-air system is worth having in a UK house rather than just a hot July.
Extending annually where the original Mi Pro installer registers the maintenance. It has to be installed, registered and serviced to Midea’s guidelines — which is precisely what an ArcticNord care plan does.
Since May 2025 air-to-air systems used for cooling fall within permitted development in England, with a larger unit size allowed and the old one-metre boundary rule removed. Listed buildings and conservation-area frontages are the exceptions.
Why have ArcticNord fit it?

Refrigerant handling is legally controlled work. Our engineers are F-Gas registered and the installation is documented properly, which also protects your manufacturer warranty.
We weigh the refrigerant charge to the actual pipe run and commission the system properly. An incorrect charge quietly wrecks efficiency and reliability, and nobody can see it once the covers are on.

What does “breezeless” actually mean?+
The air deflector closes and the cooled air is pushed out through 7,928 micro-holes in the flap instead of being blown at you in a single stream. You get the temperature change without the draught — which is the usual complaint about air conditioning in a bedroom or an office.
What is the difference between Breezeless and Breezeaway?+
Breezeless closes the flap and diffuses the air through the micro-holes. Breezeaway leaves the flap open but swings it to its maximum angle so the airflow is thrown away from where people are sitting. Breezeless is the gentler of the two; Breezeaway moves more air.
How quickly does it heat or cool a room?+
Cool Flash Mode is rated at a 6.3°C drop in ten minutes and Warm Flash Mode at a 9.4°C rise in ten minutes. Those are manufacturer test figures — real rooms vary with insulation, glazing and how many people are in them, which is why we size from a heat load rather than a rule of thumb.
What does the UV lamp do?+
A UVC module inside the unit uses ultraviolet light to kill bacteria and discourage mould growth on the coil and in the condensate tray — the damp parts, where trouble actually starts. It works alongside a cold-catalyst filter and a Bio HEPA filter that deal with dust, odours, formaldehyde and other VOCs.
