Cooling, and pre-heated water for free
The heat pulled out of your rooms goes into the cylinder. You were paying to cool the house anyway — the hot water comes off the back of it.
Rooms and water together
Output splits between the rooms and the tank. Both can run at once.
Hot water on its own
Spring and autumn. Heated on a schedule, or whenever the cooling is off.
When someone wants a second bath
Press POWERFUL and the tank re-heats even mid-cycle.

Named by cooling capacity, because that is what decides which one your house needs. Daikin added the two larger units in July 2025.

Larger homes and light commercial
All three heat as well as cool, and all three run down to −15°C in heating. The small unit tops out at 18°C outdoor in heating mode against 24°C on the other two, and takes three indoor units rather than four — those are the real differences, not whether it heats.
118 litres actual, 1283 × 510 × 570mm, 47kg empty and 165kg full. Enamel-coated steel, up to 75°C, energy class A. Goes in where floor space is the constraint.
230 litres, 1855 × 595 × 634mm, 115kg empty and 345kg full. Stainless steel, energy class A+. Needs a floor that can take it, and all connections come off the top.
Every indoor unit is controlled individually — different temperatures, different schedules, switched on and off separately. But they all share one mode. The system is either heating the house or cooling it, not both at once in different rooms. In practice that rarely matters in a UK home; occasionally it does, and it is the sort of thing we would rather you heard from us than found out in October.

Who this is actually for
It makes most sense if…
You are coming off an ageing boiler or an immersion. You are in a flat or new-build with nowhere for a flue. Or the outside space will not take two units.
It is not right for every property
Cylinder space, pipework and your actual hot water demand decide it. Two baths back to back is a different answer to one. We will tell you if it is wrong for you.
Why have ArcticNord fit it?
A system doing three jobs has three ways to be designed badly. Most of what decides whether you get the efficiency on the label happens before anyone picks up a spanner.
Cylinder size follows how much hot water the household actually uses and when it uses it. Two baths back to back is a different answer to one shower a day, and getting it wrong is expensive in both directions.
We size from a calculation, not from floor area. Oversizing a system like this costs twice — once to buy and again every day it runs.
Refrigerant handling is legally controlled work. Our engineers are certified and the paperwork you get at handover proves it.
Access, airflow, condensate, noise at the neighbouring window, and the pipe route to the cylinder. All of it decided before we quote, not on the day.
25m to a room and 50m across the system is the limit. Where the cylinder sits relative to the outdoor unit is decided on the survey, not discovered on install day.
Multi+ is a genuinely good system in the right house. We would rather price you a conventional split than sell you a cylinder you have nowhere to put.
Common questions
Does it replace my boiler completely?
For hot water, yes — the cylinder is heated by the Multi+ outdoor unit. Whether it replaces the boiler for space heating depends on your house: Multi+ heats through the indoor air conditioning units, so any room without one still needs a heat source. We work that through on the survey.
Is the hot water really free in summer?
Not free, but close to it. When the system is cooling, the heat it removes from your rooms is recovered into the cylinder rather than dumped outside. You are paying to cool the house either way, and the hot water comes off the back of that.
How many rooms can it do?
Up to four indoor units on the current outdoor units, plus the cylinder. The earlier 4-port model takes three. With Easyzone, one fan coil can serve more than one zone, which stretches that further.
Which cylinder will I need?
120L wall-mounted or 230L floor-mounted. It comes down to your hot water demand and where the tank can go — the 230L needs floor space, the 120L does not.
How does it compare to the Hisense Multi Function II?
They do the same job in a similar way. The Hisense runs a larger cylinder and more indoor units; the Daikin gives you the Daikin indoor range and the Onecta app. We fit both and have no reason to prefer one.
