Bosch does not make one air conditioner, it makes six. Two wall units for the home, a multi-split that runs up to five rooms from a single outdoor box, and a commercial range that arrives as a ceiling cassette, a concealed ducted unit or a ceiling/floor unit. This page covers all of it — what each one is for, what it puts out, and how to tell them apart.

Six units. One set of underlying kit.
Every unit on this page is inverter-driven, heats as well as cools, and runs on R32 refrigerant. What changes between them is where the indoor unit goes, how much air it moves, and how many rooms one outdoor unit has to serve.
The 7000i on silent mode, which is quieter than a library and quieter than the fridge in the next room. It is the number that decides whether air conditioning is tolerable in a bedroom, and the reason the 7000i ends up there rather than the 3200i.
A+++ seasonal efficiency on the 7000i
SEER 9.4 and SCOP 5.3. Inverter-driven, so it modulates rather than switching on and off — and in heating mode it returns several units of heat per unit of electricity. A heat pump, not an electric heater.
2.6kW to 16kW across the range
One family of technology stretching from a single bedroom to a shop floor. The jump from domestic to commercial is a change of indoor unit, not a change of manufacturer.
It heats as well as it cools
Every unit here is a reversible air-to-air heat pump. In January it runs backwards and warms the room, often for less than the gas boiler sitting beside it.

A cold catalyst filter, a bio filter and an ioniser working on particles, odours and allergens as it runs — not just in a heatwave.

The two that go on your wall
Most homes end up with one of these two. They do the same job — the difference is how hard they have to work to do it, and how much you notice them doing it.
Climate 3200i
The workhorse. A compact, squared-off box that covers rooms from roughly 15 to 50 square metres, with the widest output range Bosch offers on a single split — up to 7.0kW, which the 7000i does not reach. Rated A++ for cooling and A+ for heating, down to 20dB(A) on its quietest setting, with a filter that catches dust, pollen and odours.
If you want air conditioning in a bedroom, a home office or a standard living room and you are not chasing the last few percent of efficiency, this is usually the sensible answer.
Climate 7000i
The premium end. A deeper, curved profile, A+++ seasonal efficiency, and 19dB(A) on silent mode — quiet enough that in a bedroom you lose track of whether it is running. Bosch quotes SEER 9.4 and SCOP 5.3, which is a genuine step up on the 3200i rather than a marketing one.
Air treatment is the other reason people choose it: a cold catalyst filter, a bio filter and an ioniser, rather than the single filter on the 3200i. Energy use is visible in the HomeCom Easy app.
The 7000i comes in two finishes
Both are the same unit underneath with identical output and efficiency — the choice is purely how much you want it to disappear.

BlackPick the 3200i if the room needs more than 5.3kW, or if the unit is going somewhere you are not sitting quietly for hours — a kitchen, a garden room, a workshop. Pick the 7000i for bedrooms, nurseries and home offices, where the 1dB and the extra filtration are worth paying for, and where the running-cost gap compounds over a long heating season. We size the room properly before recommending either; guessing is how people end up with a unit that short-cycles.
What actually goes outside
Every system on this page pairs an indoor unit with an outdoor condensing unit. It is the part that does the noisy work, and the part that decides where the whole system can go.
Ground-mounted on feet or wall-mounted on brackets. It needs breathing room at the coil face and somewhere for condensate to go in winter, when it is running as a heat pump and shedding water.
The outdoor unit is where the noise lives. Position matters more than the specification — under a neighbour’s bedroom window is a decision you only get to make once.
Two insulated copper lines plus a control cable run between indoor and outdoor. Route and length affect performance, so it is designed before it is drilled.
R32 throughout the Bosch range. Lower global warming potential than the R410A it replaced, and it needs less of it to do the same work.
One outdoor unit. Up to five rooms.
If you want air conditioning in more than one room, the alternative to five outdoor units bolted along the back wall is a multi-split — one outdoor unit, one set of pipework, and up to five indoor units that each keep their own temperature.
4.1, 5.3, 6.2, 7.9, 8.2, 10.5 and 12.5kW. The size you need depends on the rooms, not the room count.
Every indoor unit has its own set temperature and its own schedule. One room cooling while another sits idle is normal operation.
Wall-mounted and cassette indoor units are both available on the multi-split, so a kitchen/diner can take a cassette while the bedrooms take wall units.
One wall penetration set, one outdoor footprint, one system to service. That is usually the deciding argument.
A multi-split has one honest limitation worth knowing before you commit: all the indoor units share one compressor, so they all heat or all cool at any given moment. If you genuinely need one room heating while another is cooling on the same day, that is a different system and we will tell you so.
The commercial range
Shops, offices, salons, surgeries, restaurants and conservatories large enough to behave like commercial space. Three indoor formats, all A++ for cooling and A+ for heating, all R32, all with a five-year guarantee as standard.
The 7kW and 8.8kW cassettes can be configured as twin systems, and the 14kW and 16kW units in all three formats are three-phase. Whether your building has three-phase available is one of the first things we check on a commercial survey, because it changes what is possible before anything else is discussed.

Every unit ships with an infrared remote. What you add on top depends on the model and how many units there are.
Bosch’s own app. Control, scheduling and — on the 7000i — energy consumption monitoring, so you can see what the thing is actually costing you rather than guessing.
Alexa, Google Home and Apple Home are all supported through the app on the domestic wall units.
On the commercial range a wired room controller can be fitted instead of, or alongside, the remote — the usual choice where the remote would go missing.
Available across the range, though on the commercial cassettes it needs either the wired controller or the connectivity key rather than the basic remote.
Some connectivity on the commercial range is an optional accessory rather than something in the box. We list what is included and what is extra on the quotation, so it is not a surprise at commissioning.

Bosch offers five years as standard across the range, and seven years on the Climate 7000i when it is installed by a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer. Guarantee length also depends on registering the product and keeping up the annual service. We will confirm in writing which guarantee applies to your specific installation before you commit to anything — we would rather tell you up front than have you find out at claim time.
Common questions
What is the difference between the Bosch Climate 3200i and the 7000i?+
The 7000i is the higher-specification unit: A+++ seasonal efficiency against A++, 19dB(A) against 20dB(A), three stages of air treatment against one, and energy monitoring in the app. The 3200i has one advantage the 7000i does not — it goes up to 7.0kW, where the 7000i stops at 5.3kW, so large rooms sometimes have to take the 3200i regardless of budget.
Can one Bosch outdoor unit run more than one room?+
Yes. The Climate 5000 Multi Split connects up to five indoor units to a single outdoor unit, in outdoor sizes from 4.1kW to 12.5kW. Each indoor unit keeps its own set temperature and schedule. They do share one compressor, so all the indoor units heat or cool together rather than some doing each at once.
Does Bosch air conditioning heat as well as cool?+
Yes — every unit on this page is a reversible air-to-air heat pump. In winter it runs backwards and heats the room, typically delivering around three to five units of heat for every unit of electricity. For many rooms it is cheaper to run than the gas central heating it sits alongside.
How long is the Bosch air conditioning guarantee?+
Five years as standard across the range. Bosch offers seven years on the Climate 7000i when it is installed by a Worcester Bosch Accredited Installer. In both cases the guarantee depends on the product being registered and serviced annually. We confirm the exact guarantee that applies to your installation in writing before you order.
What refrigerant does Bosch use?+
R32 across the whole air conditioning range. It has a substantially lower global warming potential than the R410A it replaced, and systems need less of it to deliver the same output. Any engineer handling it must be F-Gas certified.
Does Bosch do air conditioning for shops and offices?+
Yes — the Climate 5000 Large Split range covers commercial installations in three formats: four-way ceiling cassette, concealed ducted and ceiling/floor. Outputs run from 3.5kW to 16kW, with the 14kW and 16kW units on three-phase supply.
